About Alfred Ukane

I’m Alfred Ukane, an agricultural economist, agribusiness consultant, trainer and entrepreneur passionate about transforming agriculture in Nigeria and beyond.

My journey began as a farm manager at a fish farm, where I witnessed firsthand the challenges smallholder farmers face. That experience ignited my mission: to empower agripreneurs and small-scale farmers with the knowledge, tools, and opportunities they need to succeed in a competitive market.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to train over 10,000 entrepreneurs across various agricultural sectors. I’ve also facilitated access to over ₦300 million in bank loans for agripreneurs, helping them scale their businesses, and supported government and development organizations in distributing grant funding worth over ₦500 million to SMEs.

I founded Chuvaak to serve as a platform where agribusinesses can receive top-tier consultancy, practical training, and access to financing and market linkages. My goal is to bridge the gap between agricultural knowledge and real-world success stories.

Whether through workshops, strategic planning, or connecting stakeholders, I’m dedicated to building a vibrant, sustainable agribusiness ecosystem that uplifts communities and drives economic growth.

In the course of my Career, I have been privileged to serve as a consultant in Three USAID projects; from MADE Intervention, USAID Nigeria Agricultural Extension and Advisory Services and Investment in Delta State Aquaculture (IDSA). I have been a long serving Master Service Provider in the Foundation for Partnership Initiative in the Niger Delta, Designing and Implementing Interventions in both Poultry and Aquaculture Value Chains. Worked with Enterprise Development Centre as a trainer, facilitator and mentor of the Transforming Nigerian Youth funded by Mastercard Foundation and also as Mentor to beneficiaries of the Farmers for the Future (F4F) Grant Program funded by British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF). All the way to facilitating several business trainings for Jobberman Young Nigeria Works programme funded by Mastercard Foundation.

Alfred Ukane as gone ahead to set up the single largest Indoor and Outdoor functional Recirculatory Aquaculture System Fish Farm in Nigeria with over 1,000,000 stocking capacity per cycle and currently sits as the CEO of Melora Farms, Warri, Delta State. He also serves as the program manager for the Warri Business Mentoring Class.

If you’re an agripreneur, a farmer, or an organization looking to create impact in agriculture, I’d love to connect and explore how we can grow together.

Let’s grow agriculture the smart way — through education, innovation, and empowerment.
